How execution, accountability, methods and supporting systems relate to a Work Unit.
A work definition, its accountable owner, its method and its supporting tools answer different questions. Keeping them distinct helps a business change one without losing the meaning of the others.
Execution and accountability
One Work Unit occurrence has one executor. That executor may be a person, an Automation or an Agent, according to the work's design and controls. If several Agents are doing different bounded work, those are several Agent Action Work Units rather than one blurred assignment.
Accountability is also specific. A Work Module, an Agent and a Process can each have a distinct directly responsible individual. The role of that person depends on what is being governed: a group of work, an executor or a reusable method.
Methods and results
A Process is a reusable method for doing work. Standard operating procedures, Skills and Automation Processes may all describe methods. A method explains how work can be performed; it is not automatically the work's structural parent.
An Output is a reusable result of work. The intended result and completion boundary make it possible to tell the difference between activity and a completed occurrence.
Apps and Key Resources
Apps and Key Resources provide context or capability for work. They may store information, enable a method or support an executor. They do not become the owner of the work simply because the work happens in, through or alongside them.
